The portfolio page gets a refresh for twenty-twelve

One of the projects I wasn’t planning on tackling this month was to refresh the portfolio interface of the website. Last year I put a lot of effort into tweaking a little flash player to fill 100% of the screen- all for your viewing entertainment. Then a few weeks ago I began getting some odd feedback from people who visited the page. “Interesting,” “Very minimal,” “Why so much white?” and my favorite red flag; “The page seems to stop loading after the first two inches from the top.” So I had to take a look and sure enough, the ‘stretch to 100%’ instruction was being ignored on all the major browsers. Agh!

Worldwide Photowalk by Scott Kelby – I lead a group of trusting souls through the narrow alleys of Xiaozhoucun

The title says it all so why continue to write here in the body? On October 1st, the Chinese National Holiday, a group of 50+ photographers joined up in Xiaozhoucun for the 4th annual International Worldwide Photowalk hosted by Scott Kelby and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. It really is hard to believe that one year ago we did our first photowalk through Liwan. On that day we were a group of 5. This year we were a group of 50+. Let’s hope for everyone’s sake Moore’s law of growth doesn’t take hold on our walker numbers. Continue reading »
